Rue Miche is a multifaceted retail and cultural hub with a glass dome at the centre of its space. Designed to host temporary exhibitions, the dome takes on a new concept each month, framing a different world within the same structure. For this iteration, Soups transformed the dome into a stage for a generation.

Vertical Parade Under Glass follows the existing glass dome and grows into a contained ecosystem of a generation constantly performing itself.

Through close observation of the space, Soups built the sculpture as a direct response to the space itself, a space with fluid identity & function: a storefront, a container, stage, and a (de)magnifier. From outside, visitors encounter a spectacle. Moving closer, virtually, it’s a parade, an accumulation of miniature gestures, infrastructures, humans and creatures, fragments of everyday life. Celebrating the diversity of life in micro-scale that unfolds vertically through three non-definitive layers: instinct, system, and imagination.

The vertical festivities draw inspiration from a generation that moves and multitasks endlessly between working, dressing, producing, socialising, dreaming and expressing personal identity. Digitally and physically made from different forms of coloured plastics, detailed metal work, mirrors that reflect, hand brush-strokes of acrylic paints, all being observed and dissected by its makers and the audiences.
